Voxi Network Coverage
While describing Voxi Review, how can we forget to mention the network coverage. Since Voxi is a part of the telco giant Vodafone, it offers excellent 3G and 4G coverage across 99% of the UK. Vodafone is also expanding its 5G platform, making Voxi a cheap and easy way to enjoy the latest mobile technology without putting a hole in your pocket. To check whether your area receives good signals or not, you can use Voxi’s coverage map.
Since Vodafone is the second-biggest network for 4G and the joint-largest and calls, it offers massive coverage in UK and users will rarely struggle to find the signal on their co-venture Voxi. The indoor signals are consistently good, which is due to the more-optimal signals that Voxi mobile services are broadcast on; hence users will get a good chance of avoiding indoor blackspots with them.
Moreover, 5G access comes as standard on Voxi and customers can use the 5G network on 5G-enabled devices. While many telco giants are now offering 5G, Voxi is one of the best value networks to offer 5G access on a 1-month contract. All of the Voxi sim-only plans offer 5G as a feature, which is an added plus.
While Voxi currently covers more than 120 UK towns and cities, its 5G access is only available in busy areas like stadiums, train stations, etc. Moreover, Voxi offers the joint-second fastest 4G speeds. The average 4G speed on Voxi is about 21.6Mbps; however, you’ll get typically faster speed in the city and slower in rural areas.
Voxi International Calls
Are you still wondering is Voxi good or not? You’ll be glad to know that Voxi offers an international calling facility to the users so they can easily connect with their loved ones.
If you are more into international calling, it is recommended to purchase the 100-minutes plan to call selected destinations outside the UK. This plan offers 100 international minutes and is available for only £3. Just sign in to My Account to add your 100 international minutes for £3 every 30 days.
The users can top up and use their allowance if they don’t have international minutes extra or if they have consumed all the minutes. Remember, that if they do so, then standard international charges will apply.

Voxi International Roaming
Voxi offers international roaming to facilitate the customers. While Voxi plans come with inclusive roaming, it is only meant for specific periods, such as short trips and holidays. Unlike other networks that apply extra charges to customers who use their phones abroad for long periods of time, Voxi only monitors the usage abroad rather than applying any charge.
However, if you use your phone internationally in any of the plan’s inclusive roaming locations for more than 62 days in a period of 120 days and if your data usage is more than in the UK, Voxi will send you a warning mail for the same.
If the roaming usage continues even after 14 days of the warning message, you may be charged extra charges. The charges are
- Calls: 3p a minute
- Data: £3.13 for each 1GB
- Texts: 1 p each
Voxi offers two global roaming plans to facilitate the users, namely – 8-Day Global and 15-Day Global Roaming. While the 8-Day plan offers 100 texts, 100 minutes, and 2GB data to be used outside UK or EU, you can enjoy 200 minutes, 200 texts, and 4Gb data with a 15-day Global Roaming Plan. The 8-Day Global roaming plan is available for £15 per month and the 15-Day plan is at £25 per month.
8-Day Global Roaming | £15 | 100 minutes, 100 texts, and 2GB data to use internationally |
15-Day Global Roaming | £25 | 200 minutes, 200 texts, and 4GB data to use internationally |
Some of the countries where both these plans are eligible to use are Albania, Grenada, Peru, Anguilla, Guayana, Philippines, Argentina, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Samoa, Russia, Australia, India, Serbia, Bangladesh, Japan, South Africa, Singapore, Canada, Brazil, Bermuda, Mexico, Taiwan. Jamaica, China, Malaysia, Thailand, and many more.
Customers can use Voxi plans in 47 countries in the Europe zone at no extra cost. The allowance of general-purpose data will be capped at 20GB or your 30-Day plan’s alliance. Always remember that roaming extra plans won’t automatically renew and you have to activate them manually if you run out of the plan.

Voxi vs Smarty vs Giffgaff vs Vodafone
Doing a comparison is hard for different mobile services, but I have broken the option down based on data and prices as follows:
Voxi | Smarty | GiffGaff | Vodafone | |
Network | Vodafone | Three | O2 | Vodafone |
5G | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
$6 | N/A | 4GB | 1GB | N/A |
£8 | N/A | 12GB | 3GB | N/A |
£10 | 15GB | 30GB | 15GB | N/A |
£12 | 25GB | N/A | 20GB | N/A |
£15 | 30GB | 50GB | 30GB | N/A |
£20 | 60GB | Unlimited | 100GB | N/A |
£25 | N/A | N/A | Always On*(80GB) | 1GB |
£35 | Endless Data | N/A | Unlimited | 20GB |
£41 | N/A | N/A | N/A | Unlimited |
Learn more | View More | View More | View More | View More |
I personally like Voxi and Smarty, because both are the cheapest overall for data. The Giffgaff are cost efficient on the lower data plans, however most people on a £10 per month budget would prefer more data.
Smarty provides the lowest price for Unlimited data, if you just want a basic option with more data for your money (if you don’t mind Three network), it is the best option.
Vodafone is the most expensive one if you pay monthly. However if you promise a long-term payment, you can still get good deals.
Customer Service
Voxi offers online customer service only. The tradeoff for their low pieces is that they don’t have call centers and you can connect with them online only. Since online chats aren’t much reliable, it simply downgrades their customer service as compared to other telecom providers. However, Voxi ensures that their social and webchat teams are on hand to help solve any queries customers are facing.
If you facing any trouble while using their services, simply go to the Contact Us page and click on the “Chat to us Online.” You will then connect with a knowledgeable agent soon who will try his best to resolve your trouble. Furthermore, you can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter handles. Tag them in your queries and they will reply in the least possible time.

So, if you are looking for 5G access, excellent network coverage, and international calls at a reasonable price, VOXI might be the best bet for you.
I have really enjoyed my experience with VOXI and the Vodafone network generally. I know EE is meant to have the best network coverage but in my area, Vodafone’s network is best. The VOXI plans are brilliant, too, and I get 60GB of data with my plan for just £12.
The add-ons you can get are very handy and it really makes any travel experience outside of the UK a lot easier, as you just add the appropriate add-on and it’ll only apply it once and the pricing is very reasonable.
The referral scheme is awesome too. If you want a free voucher on joining then please feel free to use my code: join. voxi. co. uk/jordanc-1011
